Booking Procedure

Most bookings should be made a term in advance although short notice for special visits can sometimes be accommodated.

Visit start times are usually 9.15am, 11am, 1pm

Times for classes are negotiable and we are committed to meeting the needs of rural schools with time constraints.

Most classes last for one and a half hours however, field excursions are longer. Confirmation of booking will normally be made by fax or email.

Class times: 9.30, 11.00 am and 1.15pm (These are negotiable).

Please ensure that you have a minimum of 4 parents for each progamme. If you have curriculum needs beyond the scope of the programmes advertised, please give us a call. We can often help you with a one off programme or loan kit.

Costs

Most programmes will be free. Those that require entry to a touring exhibition that has been hired by the museum may attract a charge.

Arriving at the museum

Parking is not always easy so make sure you have time to find a park before the programme starts. Classes will use the main door on the corner of Hardy and Trafalgar Streets. It is a good idea to collect up your class outside before coming into the museum as a group. There is room for students inside if it is raining.

We can store bags in the classroom upstairs and morning tea or lunch can be eaten on the roof garden.

Adult helpers

We make you work!! Adult helpers will enjoy leading groups in various activities. This is empowering to parents.
